Your story reminded me of me and my sister who are a year apart. I am the older one. According to my parents, one my first day of 1st grade (I never went to K), my sister started her 1st day of K, well she would call me lolli (she couldn't say Lorelei), well she cried when my mom dropped her off for her lolli, well the teacher thought she was saying dolly and say her lolli was outside (I must have been at recess or something), so they went and helped her find her lolli/dolly and after I guess awhile, another teacher said I think that is her sister, and so as a temporary fix, she(my sis) was only suppose to sit with me for alittle bit in the morning (we went to private school), well it turns out she never went back to K, b/c I think us being a year apart she just learned what I learned and that is how she skipped K. But I think it is cute to hear how my sister missed her lolli (her name is Theresa and I would call her Taty & to this day, that is our auntie names: Aunt Lolli & Aunt Taty). I also wanted to say that the other story about the kisses is the sweetest thing, that she saves her kisses for sharing with her sister. That type of thing makes me want to smile and cry because it reminds me of me and my sister when we little. I totally relate to the pick up situation, we have always lived close enough for pick up and it is always a mess, you arrive early, you wait, you arrive on time (dismissal), you wait, late, well you are late. Luckily, dropping off my dd for her first day of 1st grade wasn't a total shock to me, because I was a teacher assistant in her K room, so I got a transition opportunity, but dd is in 3rd grade now and I still miss her and wonder how she is doing sometimes, but maybe it is because she is my only and we are really close. Well good luck and as you know it will get better with time.
